TEAM is a pan-European collaborative research and development network with focus on reshaping music teacher education (MTE) and school music education (ME) in response to current needs of music teacher professionalization, digitization, intercultural learning, future viability, sustainability and social coherence.

By engaging with TEAM, the EMU contributes to a pan-European collaboration that connects institutions across all stages of music teacher education and thus strengthens the wider music education community. This directly reflects the EMU’s mission to support cooperation between countries, encourage exchange of expertise, and enhance the quality and relevance of music education practices.

The expected outcomes of the TEAM project include the development of evidence-based teaching materials, open educational resources, and policy recommendations aimed at improving the quality of music teacher education across Europe. These results contribute to offering new pedagogical approaches, supporting professional development, and strengthening international mobility and cooperation opportunities. Through the EMU network, these outcomes can be disseminated, adapted, and implemented in diverse national contexts, contributing to the continuous advancement and future readiness of music education in Europe.

TEAM’s project duration is June 2023 to September 2026 and is coordinated by the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . TEAM is co-funded by the Erasmus Plus Teacher Academies Strand.
