Nineteen schools from across Bulgaria came together through “Archipelago of Talents,” a music and arts-education project connecting students through performance, collaboration and cultural activities. The participating schools are members of SUPRIM and provide specialized or expanded education in fields including music, visual arts and choreography. For the students involved, the project created opportunities to take their work beyond the classroom and local community: to perform in public, develop their creative and stage skills, work alongside students from other schools and take part in cultural activities in different parts of the country.
From regional stages to a national one
The project unfolded through three regional artistic reviews, held in Vratsa, Kazanlak and Targovishte. At each event, students presented programmes spanning instrumental and vocal music, dance and other artistic forms. The regional events also brought artistic education into contact with local communities. Performances and other activities involved elderly people, children with special educational needs and other community groups, extending the project beyond the participating schools and their students.
Archipelago of Talents – The Concert
The project culminated in a national concert-performance at the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia. More than 1,000 participants took part in the production, bringing students from schools across Bulgaria together on a single stage. The programme reflected the range of artistic education represented in the project. Bulgarian folklore, classical music, jazz, popular music, dance and modern ballet were brought together, alongside visual and digital art. After the three regional showcases, the national concert provided a common stage for the participating young artists and marked the culmination of the project’s national activities.
