dialoguing arts – Cultural Literacy for Social Inclusion

As part of the EMU’s commitment to fostering access to high-quality music education, strengthening cultural participation, and promoting exchange and cooperation across Europe, we joined the d@rts (dialoguing@rts) project as an associated partner.

Funded by the EU Horizon Programme (2021-2027), dialoguing@rts (d@rts) aims to “Advance Cultural Literacy for Social Inclusion through Dialogical Arts Education.”

The project’s emphasis on the role of artistic practice in supporting dialogue, inclusion, and social cohesion resonates closely with the EMU’s understanding of music and arts education as a powerful tool for personal development and cultural participation.

By engaging with d@rts, the EMU contributes to and benefits from a European collaboration that brings together diverse perspectives and innovative approaches to cultural education. This aligns with the EMU’s mission to connect national music school systems, encourage knowledge exchange, and support the continuous development of music education practices. At the same time, the project’s perspective on the societal impact of the arts complements the EMU’s strategic focus on strengthening the relevance of music and art schools in a changing Europe.

The expected outcomes of the d@rts project include the development of innovative methodologies, practical tools, and policy recommendations that highlight the role of the arts in fostering dialogue and inclusion. These results aim to provide new approaches for teaching and community engagement, supporting advocacy efforts at national and European levels, and strengthening the capacity of music and art schools to respond to societal challenges.
